Aspire | Fall 2024

Walking the Wire

As monetary policy eases, investors should look to ensure proper diversification while seeking exposures that have more room to run.

Overview

Amid a turbulent election and geopolitical conflicts, equity markets have generated strong, if at times concentrated, returns this year on the back of a resilient economy and anticipation of lower interest rates. With market performance seeming to widen out, we believe now is a good time to review portfolios for diversification and return potential.

In this issue of Aspire, we provide our views on the markets and investing, consider the potential tax and other policy impacts of the election, and lay out some wealth planning ideas for the rest of the year. We also consider the positive impacts of philanthropy on personal well-being and ways to safeguard your digital information.

A key danger for investors is now concentration risk, as major equity indices have become heavily weighted toward mega-cap leaders.
